This is the second time, this happens.
I was enjoying my lunch with a nice piece of afghan bread, and suddenly I felt a plastic string in my mouth. The same thing happened a couple minutes later.
Please pay more attention while preparing your dough. This is a popular brand that bakes afghan bread. Thousands of people buy this bread monthly. And half of them are children consuming the bread. I can’t imagine what would happen if a child eats these plastic strings with this bread.

While Bakhtar Bakery offers some sweets and bread, it also offers select beverages and various Middle-Eastern cooking ingredients. There were also quite a number of books and CDs in what I assumed to be in the Afghan language. I tried the baklava, cream roll, and 2 of the cookies. Baklava was a little doughy, but the taste was okay. The cream roll, and 2 cookies also had good flavor but were all a little old/stale. The flower-shaped cookie was soft and yummy, while the coconut cookie had a good nutty flavor. The cream roll was kind of flaky but broke apart in chunks. I think the roll and cookies would have been good if they were fresh.

Very delicious bread and Afghan Roat, we have tried most of the bakeries that bake Afghan bread, Bakhtar Bakery is second to none. Exceptional customer service and great prices.

Best fresh Afghani bread ever. Service is always 100% friendly and the bakery is clean. Prices are ok for most items.

I was glad the bakhtar bread before for the taste and baking .but it’s almost a week , the bread has some smell like hand wash soaps or some perfume. I don’t know what is the problem?
Now unfortunately I must throw out all of this breads

I do not live in Virginia but every 3 months I travel there and while in VA, I pick up enough bread to bring home in freeze. That lasts me till my next trip. Due to COVID19, I was unable to travel. I called Bakhtar Bakery and spoke with the owner. He was extra nice and helpful. He asked me to send him a box and a shipping label and he will do the rest. He kept me informed by email and shipped the bread the way I had requested. I received them today with an extra special bread included in the box. So for that, I THANK the owner of the Bakhtar Bakery for going out of his way to accommodate a customer.
